Title:  Electrical Engineer 5 – Solar/Battery Energy Storage Systems  Location Options:  Overland Park, KS; Raleigh, NC; or Ann Arbor, MI (Hybrid work approach allows someone to work two days a week from other locations outside of the office)  Skills:  Storage system technology experience; BESS application engineering; Electrical power distribution; Power cable sizing, cable schedules; Electrical equipment sizing and selection; Familiar with applicable NEC and IEEE/ANSI standards; load flow, short circuit and reactive capability analysis (ETAP or SKM), Arc flash analysis, and grounding analysis

 

As part of Operations and supporting the Energy & Process business, this engineer will support Battery Energy Storage Systems and/or utility scale solar projects.

Electrical engineer with experience in storage system technology, experience should include but is not limited to the following:

-BESS application engineering
-Creating one-line drawings
-Power cable sizing, cable schedules
-Electrical equipment sizing and selection
-Experience with specifying and procuring electrical equipment (listed below).
-Understand and be able to work within a schedule and manhours budget
-Familiar with applicable NEC and IEEE/ANSI standards
-Electrical equipment includes but is not limited to: MV and LV switchgear, pad mount transformer, Transformer -GSUT, panel boards, breakers, protective relays, inverter/PCS, battery, battery chargers, disconnect switches, surge arrestors, dead front disconnect switch, medium voltage cable, low voltage cable, control cable, fiber optic cable
-Prepares complex engineering calculations such as:  load flow, short circuit and reactive capability analysis (ETAP or SKM), Arc flash analysis (ETAP or SKM), grounding analysis
-Actively coordinate with others on the team
-Communicate with upper management and provide status updates on engineering design activities.

 

Electrical engineer with electrical engineering experience in utility-scale solar. Experience should include but is not limited to the following:

-Creating one-line drawings
-Creating collection system overall layout
-Power cable sizing, cable schedules
-Electrical equipment sizing and selection
-Experience with specifying and procuring electrical equipment (listed below).
-Understand and be able to work within a schedule and manhours budget
-Familiar with applicable NEC and IEEE/ANSI standards
-Electrical equipment includes but is not limited to: MV and LV switchgear, pad mount transformer, Transformer -GSUT, panel boards, breakers, protective relays, inverter, battery, battery chargers, disconnect switches, surge arrestors, dead front disconnect switch, medium voltage cable, low voltage cable, control cable, fiber optic cable
-Prepares complex engineering calculations such as:  load flow, short circuit and reactive capability analysis (ETAP or SKM), Arc flash analysis (ETAP or SKM), Cable ampacity study (CYMCAP or equivalent), grounding analysis, AC-DC voltage drop calculations, VOC/ISC calcs, AC/DC Cable sizing.
