Electrical Designer

TITAN Consulting has a few opportunities to work with a Client on a project as an Electrical Designer on industrial equipment (steel mills).

We would prefer a person working in the Eastern Time Zone for a remote position.  If a person does not live/work in EST, then they must understand they will be working during hours in EST.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 2-year technical degree from an accredited program. Electrical systems / basic electricity coursework included.
  • Experience with REVIT design software is a plus.   Will train with REVIT if you do not have experience.
  • Minimum 5-10+ years of relevant experience in an electrical design engineering and industrial environment (Steel Mills)
  • Electrical power system design experience for industrial facilities.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office products and other computer software used to complete design assignments.
  • Knowledge of Electrical design practices, including drawings, specifications, codes, building materials, and construction techniques.​​
  • Utilize REVIT software to prepare 3D layouts and design drawings that meet company and industry standards and codes.
  • Knowledge of Electrical design practices, including drawings, specifications, codes, building materials, and construction techniques.
  • Prepares electrical design drawings such as single line diagrams; power, lighting, grounding, and other systems plans; electrical area plans; electrical equipment arrangement plans; cable tray layout plans and sections; conduit and cable schedules; motor control schematics.
  • Applies standard drafting/design principles to complete assignments.  Ensure compliance with company and client policies and applicable standards and codes such as ANSI, NEMA, NEC, IEEE, IEC, NFPA etc.
  • Makes required changes, additions, and/or revisions as directed by immediate supervisor.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
  • Prepares typical electrical databases/spreadsheets such as motor and electrical load lists; panel schedules; bills of materials

If working in the office in Pittsburgh, the work schedule is M-Th in the office and Fridays remote (you have the choice to work in the office on Fridays as well). 

If remote, they will travel to the Pittsburgh office the first week for training and get a laptop, monitor, etc.
