Overview
Civil Engineering Technicians contribute to the planning, design, and implementation of site development, including grading and drainage, erosion control, roadways, fencing, and underground utilities for these advanced industrial and commercial facilities.
Focus on creating and modifying site plans, grading designs, and utility layouts using advanced techniques in industry-standard design tools such as Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley MicroStation. Will collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams supporting Distributed Network projects such as Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
Typically 1 year of related work experience required.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously learns and applies established standards, systems, document control practices, departmental guidelines, and company policies and procedures.
- Ensures deliverables are accurate and compliant by developing knowledge of the company Quality Program.
- Demonstrates strong personal accuracy and supports continuous improvement and change management initiatives.
- Expands technical knowledge to modify and develop less complex deliverables using various design inputs.
- May assist with minor technical tasks, such as material quantity estimates and dimensional checks.
- May assist with coordination of deliverables with other project disciplines to reduce errors and interferences.
- Prioritizes internal client needs while developing a basic understanding of external client drivers and expectations.
- Proactively seeks out and shares knowledge of emerging technologies and processes
Education
Diploma or Certificate Required. Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
